About

I’m Brian Plescher — a writer, essayist, and strategist working at the intersection of critical theory and practical craft.

I write essays and books about transformation, collapse, and the practice of thinking clearly in an unraveling world. My work draws on post-structuralist philosophy, complexity theory, disability justice, and Indigenous epistemologies — but I write for readers who want to use these ideas, not just study them.

I’m the author of Woundwise — an introduction to post-structuralist philosophy as lived practice, drawing on four years living in the shantytowns of Buenos Aires — and The Directed Author — a model of creative leadership for writers navigating AI collaboration.

I also run Sonexial, a company that builds AI-ready author websites and marketing infrastructure for self-published writers. Sonexial is where the practical side of my work lives — helping other authors survive and thrive in a discovery landscape that’s fundamentally changed.

My credentials on that side: M.S. in Management, Strategy, and Leadership from Michigan State University and an Executive Education Certificate in Accelerated Management from Yale School of Management.
